The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program introduces people to scuba diving in
a highly supervised and relaxed manner. It dispels common misconceptions about scuba by letting individuals try it for hemselves. Under the guidance of a PADI professional, new divers learn basic safety concepts, put on equipment and swim around underwater in a closely supervised environment. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program can take place in a swimming pool, protected confined open water area and at an open water dive site anywhere an appropriate, positive introduction to scuba diving is possible. After trying scuba, many new divers may decide to repeat the experience.

This Refresh Course is designed for the Certified Diver who has not been diving in more than one year, or for individuals who feel that a review of basic skill would enhance their Diving enjoyment.

The PADI Open Water Diver course teaches student divers the foundational knowledge and skills they need to dive with a buddy, independent of supervision.
The Scuba Diver course is a sub course within the Open Water Diver course that teaches student divers the foundational knowledge and skills they need to dive under the supervision of a certified dive master, assistant instructor or instructor.
Discussions regarding the standards, philosophy and structure of the Open Water Diver course apply equally to the scuba Diver course, unless otherwise noted.

You may refer a PADI Open Water Diver course student who has completed any Knowledge Development session, Confined Water Dive or Open Water Dive to a PADI Instructor in another location to complete certification requirements.

The PADI Adventures in Diving program is based on the premise that diving is a means to explore other interests. Once comfortable with basic skills, divers want to conquer new tasks, see different creatures, journey into diverse environments and experience new adventures.

The Adventures in Diving program offers two certification options. A diver who completes any three of Adventure Dives earns the PADI Adventure Diver rating.
A diver who completes the Deep Dive, the underwater navigation Dive and three additional Adventure Dives (five total) earns the Advanced Open Water Diver
certification.
